Sydney: Australia's Michael Bevan scored his first century in a four-day match for New South Wales (NSW) this season as his side made 240 for two on the second day of their match against Tasmania on Thursday.Bevan, 30, a key to Australia's success in the Limited-Overs triangular series against West Indies and Zimbabwe which finished last week, hit 14 fours and three sixes in his 154-ball innings, scoring 119.Bevan came to the crease at 43 for one and added 197 for the second wicket with Greg Mail (87 not out) before the left-hander was caught behind in the penultimate over of the day's play.He said, ''At the start of the season I got 30s and didn't go on with them, so I was a little bit disappointed in my season. I feel I've been hitting the ball well.''Earlier, Tasmania had collapsed to 369 all out after resuming the day at 321 for four. Tasmanian captain Jamie Cox was out for 160, adding only four to his overnight score, and Shaun Young was out for 67 eight overs later as the visitors lost their last five wickets for 16 runs.Young left-armer Nathan Bracken took four for 78. Bracken, 23, like Bevan, was overlooked for Australia's 14-man squad to tour India, which arrived in the sub-continent on Wednesday. (c) Reuters Limited. Click here for Restrictions
