Johannesburg: A South African inventor has produced a cricket box fitted with coil springs, which he tested by repeatedly hitting himself in the groin with a bat, the 'Saturday Star' reported. Lester Allison, a 35-year-old gym teacher, is currently raising capital to start full-scale production, the newspaper said."The box significantly lessens the impact on the groin area if a player is hit by a cricket ball," it said. "The resourceful inventor also promises players a better fit and increased mobility running between the wickets."Copyright AFP 2000
