Georgetown: Carl Hooper has reinforced his claims for a West Indies recall after scoring his fourth century of the Busta Cup campaign for Guyana against Windward Islands.As the Caribbean side licks their wounds after a 5-0 thrashing by Australia, Jamaican openers Chris Gayle and Leon Garrick put themselves firmly in the frame for selection by both scoring double centuries against West Indies ''B''.Gayle hit 208 not out and Garrick 200 not out as Jamaica declared at 425 without loss on the third day on Sunday. The two beat the regional first wicket record of 390 set in 1951.Hooper hit 128 on Sunday and surpassed the tournament record of 756 runs, scored by Barbadian Floyd Refier in 1991. Hooper has now scored 786 runs in the Busta Cup this season. The 34-year-old has been in sensational form since returning to the Caribbean from Australia in October.He retired from the West Indies team in 1999 but is available for selection again for the home series against South Africa, starting next month. Guyana will win the Busta Cup if they beat Windward Islands on the final day on Monday.
