Nairobi: Kenya's Cricket Association, which is embroiled in an acrimonious row with its players, said on Wednesday that the country would play against West Indies in Kenya in August. The KCA officials said on Tuesday that they had agreed to meet the 11 national team players, whose contracts they cancelled on February 3 for alleged indiscipline, in a bid to end the feud. The stand off caused the cancellation of Kenya's tour of India and Bangladesh, which was to have started on February 11. Sharad Ghai, KCA executive committee member, said the West Indies would undertake a three-week tour of Kenya in early August for a series of Limited-Overs matches. He said Bangladesh, the newly promoted Test side, would make a brief visit to Kenya to play a triangular tournament against Kenya and the West Indies. Kenya, which was awarded One-Day status by the International Cricket Council (ICC) three years ago, has been invited to play against South Africa and India in Cape Town in November. The country is also expected to participate in the Caribbean islands' Busta cricket series early next year. These competitions will serve as the country's build up towards the 2003 World Cup in South Africa. Copyright AFP 2000
