Dhaka: Spearheaded by Man-of-the-match S T Binny (3/23) and solid knock of 40 by D Chowgule India defeated arch rival Pakistan by 77 runs to storm into the final of ICC-ACC under-17 cricket tournament here on Thursday.In the other semi-final, hosts Bangladesh created a major upset as they ousted holders Sri Lanka by five wickets to setup a title clash with India slated for Saturday.Interestingly India had beaten Pakistan twice in the U-15 Asian Championship in Kuala Lumpur last year.Batting first India scored 191 for 7 in 45 overs with Chowgule emerging as top scorer with 40 runs (1x4, 43 balls). India were given a good start by openers S M Dholpure 24 (3x4, 48 balls) and P A Patel 12 (1x4, 43 balls) as they put up 57 runs for the first wicket.There was another good 55 run partnership for the third wicket between Chowgule 40 (3x4, 55balls) and A S K Verma 22 as the Indians took their score to 128 for 3 in 30.5 overs but after that they lost two more wickets with the addition of only one run.R Mohanty 26 (3x4, 32 b) and unbeaten 22 by G Shankra Rao (3x4, 25b) and 32 extras saw India finishing their essay at 191 with three wickets still in hand. Pakistani bowlers contributed 32 extras, which included 23 wides. Medium Pacer Najaf Shah bowled 14 of those wides. Salman Qadir, Mohammad Azhar Ali and Azam Hussain took two wickets each.Barring opener and skipper Salman Butt who top scored with 36 (6x4, 41 b) Salaman Qadir 21 (4x4, 25b) and Mohammad Azhar Ali 24 (1x4, 56b) all other Pakistan batsmen failed against some accurate bowling.Binny (3/23), B Mohanty (2/27) Shankra Rao 2/22) ripped through the batting line up as Pakistan were all out for 144 in 36.2 overs.UNI
