New Delhi: Indian Air Force (IAF) won the first game in the tri-nation air force cricket tournament here Monday, defeating the Sri Lankan Air Force by 174 runs.Batting first, the IAF team notched up 270 runs for the loss of five wickets in the stipulated 50 overs, with opener Imtiaz Mohammed topscoring with 85 runs. The Sri Lankans were later bundled out for 96 runs in 25.5 overs.IAF captain, Squadron Leader Harish Bhaskar, won the toss and elected to bat. Bhaskar scored 61, while K K Dixit remained not out on 56. Sri Lankan opener Dilip Fernando was the highest scorer for his team, making 29 runs.The teams will play each other twice, and the two countries with the highest points will play in the final March 20.India Abroad News Service
