Azhar case to be heard on April 16

Hyderabad: A city Court on Tuesday posted to April 16, the hearing on the petition filed by former Indian captain Mohammed Azharuddin challenging the life ban imposed on him by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in the wake of the match-fixing scandal. The second additional Chief Judge, City Civil Courts, J Shyam Sundar Rao posted the hearing to April 16 after the respondents, BCCI president A C Muthaiah, former Central Bureau of Investigation Director K Madhavan and the BCCI filed their counter statements in the court on Tuesday. The counsel for Azharuddin had filed an application in the court on March 7 last seeking the BCCI's resolution copy banning him for life besides the one on the appointment of BCCI's special enquiry Commissioner K Madhavan.
