England pledges to be No. 1 Test side

London: England cricket officials on Thursday launched a 'National Strategy' whereby they vowed to make their country the top Test nation by 2007. The plan also includes England winning the One-day World Cup in the same year. The National Strategy, launched by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) chief executive Tim Lamb, provides a framework for the development of cricket 'from playground to Test arena' in England and Wales in the short and medium term.
