Kolkata: "I love Saurav's aggression. He is young and excited. He just needs time," television commentator Harsha Bhogle said. Talking to UNI on Tuesday on the occasion of final on-air episode and awards distribution ceremony of ESPN School Quiz Olympiad, Harsha said Saurav's temperament is different from that of Sachin or Azharuddin. He is more outspoken and aggressive and he should be accepted like that, he said. While commenting on media criticism of Saurav for his abrasive behaviour, Harsha said it had unnecessarily been taken overboard by the Indian media. "The problem was that we concentrated more on what Steve had to say. I mean they only got a taste of their own medicine. Besides why should we be bothered about 'Sydney Morning's' point of view?'' He asked "We won a Test series 2-1 against the world champions and gave them a tough time in the One-dayers and Saurav should be given credit for that," he said. Harsha, however, felt Australia was a better all-round team, it was India that better exploited the home conditions, which in itself was all the more creditable. Talking about the choice of John Wright as the Indian cricket coach, Harsha said he is the best thing that could have ever happened to the Indian team. "Wright has motivated the team and has been very closely working with the team. This has shown its effects on the field. He even requested the ESPN STAR to make a motivational cassette for the team for the Test and One-day series." The match-fixing scandal that rocked the Indian cricket has been a blessing in disguise, he said adding that it had helped clean the system and now the team was performing like a unit. On the composition of the team, Harsha said, "The team is playing well and more importantly winning. Murali Karthik is one he hoped would make it to the Test level and would lend a balance to the bowling department." On his own achievements, he said Harsha online had been a big bonus for him. "It really feels good to have a show in one's own name in an internationally watched sports channel," he said. "I am at ease with everything I do but live cricket comes more naturally to me," he said.
