Karachi: Pakistan won the third One-dayer beating Netherlands by two wickets at National Stadium in Karachi on Thursday. Pakistan now leads in seven-match series 3-0.Pakistan won the toss and elected to field. Compared to the previous two One-dayers, Netherlands made a good start, as the opening pair put up 66 runs for the first wicket partnership. Both the openers Koster and Tanke made 34 runs each. But Netherlands couldn't carry on the innings after the good start it got from its opening pair. It lost quick wickets at regular intervals to end up scoring 166 runs losing all the wickets in 48.3 overs. The only other reasonable partnership apart from the opening partnership was that of the second wicket of 30 runs. For Pakistan Sajjida Shah and Shaiza Khan were the pick of the bowlers. Sajjida picked up four wickets giving away miserly 22 runs with two maidens in her 10 overs, while Shaiza claimed four wickets giving 33 runs with two maidens in her 10 overs.Pakistan also started its innings well as its opening pair put up 55 runs partnership before Koster trapped Zehmurad Afzal (20) lbw. After the fall of the first wicket Pakistan seemed to be in trouble as it lost two quick wickets and was soon three down for 68 runs. Just when it looked that the fourth wicket partnership was consolidating the innings Kiran Baluch was out to Kieft, score reading 91 for the loss of four wickets. Then Pakistan lost another three quick wickets taking the score to 116 for the loss of seven wickets. Thanks to the sensible eighth wicket partnership of 49 runs between Shaiza Khan and Batool Fatima, Pakistan reached the target of 167 to win in 49.5 overs in a thrilling finish. For Netherlands Van de Kieft was the most successful bowler taking two wickets for 33 runs. Netherlands doesn't seem to learn from its past mistakes.
