New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to identify a new sponsor at the Working Committee meeting to be held on April 24. A new sponsor is on the anvil with ITC withdrawing following the Union government's ban on sponsorship from tobacco companies. The Indians are scheduled to leave on a tour of Zimbabwe towards the end of May and a new sponsor is likely to be in place by then. According to BCCI sources some big names like Tatas, Reliance and Hero Honda are likely to bridge the gap created by the withdrawal of ITC. BCCI's Marketing and Sponsorship Committee will meet soon after the Working Committee meeting to take a decision on the matter, sources added. BCCI president Dr A C Muthiah is also expected to chair Marketing and Sponsorship Committee meeting. This is likely to be followed by interview of candidates for the post of BCCI's General Manager (Media). Apart from Dr Muthiah, the others in he panel include Jagmohan Dalmiya, K M Ramprasad, Khanna, Rajiv Shukla and J Y Lele.
