Johannesburg: Mark Boucher, the vice-captain of the South African national cricket side, is determined to show he is still a good performer in the final Test against the West Indies in Jamaica on Friday.

Boucher admitted that his performance had not been up to scratch so far on the West Indian tour, even though the South Africans have won the series 2-0 after two matches were drawn. "I haven't been happy with my batting form," Boucher told the daily 'SportsDay'.

"In fact, there are three or four guys in the side who know they are short of runs. It is not something that has happened to us before. What we would like to do is to get a really big score on the board for the first time in the series, something in the region of 500 runs," he added.

Boucher said although his batting form had not been good, he had not done too badly behind the stumps, even though it had been difficult initially.

"It's a fact that all the wicket-keepers who come here take a long time to get used to the pitches, especially standing so close to the wickets," Boucher told the Afrikaans daily 'Beeld', adding that the bounce on the West Indian pitches made it even more difficult.

Boucher said the South Africans were determined to win the final Test as well. "It's better to have a 3-0 victory than a 2-1 one," he said. "We want to retain our stranglehold on the Windies and let them know that they cannot beat us. There's still a lot at stake, and we want to keep the momentum going for the One-day series," Boucher said.
