Bangalore: Ace leg spinner Anil Kumble has left for South Africa for another consultation with shoulder-specialist Mark Fergusson regarding his right shoulder.
Kumble, whose right shoulder was operated upon last January in South Africa, left for Johannesburg a few days ago and was expected back here next month, his family members told UNI.
The injury has kept Kumble in pavilion for the past several months. He met Dr Fergusson last month and the internationally-reputed specialist suggested changes in his rehabilitation programme. The leg spinner was strictly following the programme and it had shown good results. Dr Fergusson had also expressed happiness over the recovery.
During this trip, Kumble would get a clear picture about the improvement in the shoulder and when he would be able to return to competitive cricket.
