Dehra Dun: Four umpires have been placed on the Uttaranchal Cricket Association (UCA) based on an umpiring test conducted recently under the technical expertise of international umpire S K Bansal and Ranji Trophy umpire Anil Chaudhary.
The four persons selected are Mr Abhinav Khetri and JeanThomas of the Doon School, Jagdish Singh Bora of Haldwani and Navin Chandra Tiwari of Nainital.
In all, 31 candidates were short listed by the UCA from all over the state for the written test held on March 17 and 18 last. Mr Navin Chandra Tiwari of Nainital topped the written test.
The four umpires selected will be required to officiate in a minimum of twenty matches and then appear for a final test and viva-voce in order to be confirmed.
Sandeep Kumar, L K Dobhal, Yogesh Joshi and Harendra Chakaiyar, all from Dehra Dun, Rajiv Kumar Chugh and Om Prakash Chugh of Vikasnagar and Parvin Rawat of Mussoorie have been placed on the district panel of cricket umpires for Dehra Dun district.
