"Cricket has been my first love and will always be so," Jadeja said, adding the role offered to him in the so far untitled film by debutant director Yusuf Khan would not be difficult. "I am playing a character who behaves and talks the way I do in real life although I had to learn quite a bit while preparing for the role. "Most people who come to films have undergone acting classes..., but in my case I have to start from the beginning and have a lot to learn," Jadeja said, opening his account in Bollywood, which annually churns out more than 300 Hindi films. Director Khan said Jadeja was suitable for the role offered to him. "He has charm and charisma. I have seen him in advertisements and feel he has the necessary screen presence," Khan said. Indian detectives directed their probe against national players after Delhi police in April last year filed criminal cases against disgraced South African skipper Hansie Cronje and three of his teammates for fixing match results to rake in money. Salim Durani, Sandeep Patil and national icon Sunil Gavaskar are the other former cricketers who have acted in Hindi films. AFP
