Karnataka romps into quarters

Jamshedpur: The Karnataka sub-junior team recorded yet another strong performance in the ongoing nationals on Thursday by romping home victors by a hefty margin of 166 , courtesy a brilliant all-round performance by Deepika Babu. Batting first Karnataka post 195 for two. Skipper Karuna Jain picked up yet another fifty (53), while Deepika Babu remained not out on 60. Sindu and Shipla chipped in with 27 and 18 not out respectively. In reply Rajasthan was steam rolled was a meagre 29 with Deepika Babu scalping four wickets. Sahana picked up two, while Karuna and Anuradha had one each against their name. Karnataka now takes on Maharashtra and Andra Pradesh takes on Uttar Pradesh in the quarter-finals. West Bengal has already qualified for the final from the other pool.
