Mumbai: Former India Captain Ajit Wadekar has resigned from the post of Chairman of Selection committee of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) but the resignation is yet to be accepted, MCA secretary Ratnakar Shetty said on Sunday.

Wadekar, who few months ago lost president's election to Sharad Pawar, cited Mumbai's failure to go beyond quarter-finals in Ranji Trophy this season, as the reason behind his resignation.
