Kolkata: An inter academy One-day cricket tournament will be organised by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) at its headquarters in Bangalore in July this year, NCA director Brijesh Patel said on Thursday. Altogether five zonal academies and the headquarters will take part in the tournament, which would help to assess the trainees, Brijesh who accompanied the NCA consultant Rodney Marsh, said. The NCA runs zonal academies in Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Kanpur and Bangalore, besides Kolkata. Marsh on Thursday visited the academy camp run under Arun Lal's able hands and advised the boys about the ''dos and don'ts'' of the game. He would also prepare a coaching programme for the zonal academy with 23 budding cricketers, Brijesh said. Marsh would also meet the former ICC chief and the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Jagmohan Dalmiya later during Thursday. Former Indian Test star Roger Binny would also come to zonal camp soon to spot the boys for the proposed tournament, Brijesh added.
