Mumbai: BCCI president A C Muthiah, who was present at the official announcement of the deal on Saturday, said Sahara will have complete hold on the sponsorship and there will be no other co-sponsors even for the logo on the non-leading arm of the batsman as was the case during the earlier sponsorship with ITC. The Sahara company will pay the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) more than 12 million Pounds (about Rs 840 million) for the Indian team's three-year sponsorship.Ravi Krishna, managing director of the IMG which along with TWI got the assignment of finding sponsors, refused to divulge the exact sponsorship figure on the excuse that he did not want any rivals getting a whiff of it. But, he said that the deal was better than the one the English team has with Vodafone of 12 million Pounds as well as the one, which Australia has with Ansett Airlines. He denied that the sponsorship was in a way some compensation to the company, which had suffered a huge loss due to government's refusal for India's participation in the Sahara Cup at Toronto against Pakistan.
