Mumbai: India wants the final of the second Asian Test Championships shifted out of Bangladesh, a top cricket official said on Wednesday.Jayawant Lele, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), said Bangladesh should be the hosts only if it reaches the final of the Championships also featuring India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka is scheduled to host the final from February 15 to 19 next year after a round-robin league across the sub-continent starting in September.Dhaka hosted the final of the inaugural Asian Championships in 1999, which Pakistan won by defeating Sri Lanka in the final."Dhaka should not host the final again, we want the venue changed," Lele said before leaving for London to attend meetings of the International Cricket Council (ICC) next week.Lele said he would speak with cricket officials from the sub-continent in London to propose a change in the venue of the final. "The match should be hosted by a nation which reaches the final," he said.Lele also said he wanted the dates of the championships reworked to suit the hectic schedule of the Indian team. India, who end a tour of Sri Lanka on September 3, are scheduled to play Pakistan in Karachi from September 13-17 before hosting Bangladesh from September 21-25.The dates, however, clash with a proposed indoor One-day series between India and Australia at the Colonial Stadium in Melbourne on September 14 and 16, followed by a third match in Brisbane on September 18.The Australian Cricket Board (ACB) has reportedly agreed to shift the One-day series to September 21, 23 and 26, which overlaps the India-Bangladesh Test match.Lele said he was confident the dates of the Asian Tests will be arranged suitably to allow the Indian team to play in Australia.
