Pune: The National Selection Committee chairman Chandu Borde has expressed disappointment over the performance of the Indian team, which lost the second Test match to Zimbabwe by four wickets.Mr Borde observed that injury to opener Sadagopan Ramesh put the team on the back foot, but he was all praise for the Zimbabweans for sticking to their game plan, especially in the second innings to restrict the Indians to a small total.Their fast medium bowlers deserved the credit for win, he added. Mr Borde felt that had the Indians added 50 plus runs in the first knock, it could have proved decisive to the outcome of the match. Regarding the Limited Overs series he said that it is a different ball game and there should be no reason why the Indians should not come out with flying colours.Speaking about Ashis Nehras inclusion in the One-dayers, Mr Borde told UNI on Tuesday that the Indian team management, had requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jayawant Lele that Nehra be retained in the squad for the One-day series. West Indies is the third team in the fray.''After hearing from Mr Lele, the request from Indian manager Chetan Chauhan, I (Borde) got in touch telephonically with my other colleagues and apprised them of the request made by the Indian team management. They have readily agreed to the request to retain the Delhi seamer,'' Borde said.Nehra was very impressive in the two-match Test series and taking his performance into account, he would certainly be an asset to the Indian team in the Limited Overs game, Borde observed.
