Kolkata: Rohan Gavaskar, son of cricket maestro Sunil Gavaskar, was on Wednesday declared Cricketer of the Year in West Bengal for his fine performance during 2000-2001.This was informed by secretary of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Debdas Banerjee.Rohan, who started playing for Bengal four years back, scored a total of 459 runs in Ranji trophy during 2000-2001, which included three centuries-114 against Assam, 121 not out against Bihar and 125 not out against Baroda. He played seven innings in five matches and remained not out on two occasions.Rohan's average in Ranji during 2000-2001 was about 90.8. In One-dayer also he played three innings in four matches and scored a total of 101 runs, including 78 against Assam. His average in Ranji One-dayer was 33.66.Rohan also represented the East Zone in Duleep trophy and Deodhar trophy. He scored 60 plus runs in Deodhar for East zone this year. UNI
