Paris: Agence France-Presse announced on Monday the launch of an interactive sports graphic service that will provide real-time results for cycling, football, Formula One, golf and half-a-dozen other major national and international sports. The Tour de France cycling race will be the first graphic available, with five major national European football leagues following in July and August. All graphics will be available in English, French and Spanish, an official press release said. These "season-at-a-glance" sports graphics are the fruit of a new partnership between AFP and Art Movies, a Paris-based company specialising in animated and interactive graphics, the release said. Each graphic is designed to accumulate real-time results over the course of an event or season, resulting in a consultable database. The graphics are all made with Flash, the dominant software on the Internet for applications requiring interactivity and animation. Flash results graphics for the current season will also include men's and women's tennis, the Five Nations rugby tournament, international cricket, the UEFA Cup and the Champions League, the release added.
