Kathmandu: A 16-member Nepalese cricket squad finally left Kathmandu on Wednesday for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Trophy in Toronto - minus four key players lost to a visa row.The departure had been delayed as the Canadian Embassy in New Delhi had refused to grant visas to four players without giving any reason. The delay resulted in the Nepalese team missing its first match, which the ICC rescheduled."Because of the visa refusal, we had to name four new players, including a new captain," said Nepal Cricket Club (NCC) general secretary Binaya Raj Pandey."We have complained to the ICC regarding the visa refusals," Pandey said.Nepal will play Namibia in its opening match of the tournament on Thursday. In all, 24 ICC associate member countries are participating in the tournament, with the top three qualifying for the 2003 World Cup in South Africa.
