Chennai: Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) will elect its new office bearers on Saturday. The elections are a low-key affair this time with no former player or anybody from the industrial houses in contention for the key post of secretary. While president A C Muthiah, who is also the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is expected to be re-elected virtually unopposed, the incumbent secretary Ashok Kumbhat is being challenged by two candidates, T R Kannan and A S Venkateswaran, both of whom own cricket clubs which are participating in TNCA's annual league championship.Mr S Kesavan, son of former Cricket Board president and TNCA secretary late S Sriraman, is running for the post of joint secretary against incumbent S C Shankar Rao. The TNCA celebrated its annual day at the historic Chepauk ground on Friday. UNI
