Dehra Dun: Both the cases of alleged cheating and fraud against former Indian cricketer Manoj Prabhakar being heard in two courts in Uttaranchal were on Wednesday adjourned till Thursday, Assistant Director General of Police (ADGP), Uttaranchal, Anil K Raturi said.Raturi told UNI that one case was being heard from 14:00 hours (IST) on Wednesday in Haldwani while the other in Nainital. The judicial magistrate on Wednesday remanded Prabhakar to a 14-day judicial custody in the case registered in Haldwani while six days of judicial custody in the case registered in Nainital. Prabhakar was arrested on Monday in New Delhi by a police team from Haldwani relating to alleged cheating of many investors in a chit fund scheme launched by a company of which Prabhakar was one of the directors. The former sportsperson, whose signature was on the receipts of the scheme subscribers, however, has denied having any connection with the company and said he only did a promotion campaign for it. The cricketer, however, complained of severe headache on Tuesday and was treated for a mild brain stroke at a nursing home at Haldwani. The doctor attending on him has been instructed by the judicial magistrate to provide the police with a daily medical report of Prabhakar's condition at 14:00 hours (IST) every day, Raturi said. UNI
