Mumbai: Former Indian all-rounder Karsan Ghavri has been appointed as coach of the Bengal team for a year this season.Ghavri, confirming his appointment, said here that he has accepted the offer by Bengal Cricket Association's (BCA) president Jagmohan Dalmiya.Bengal has opted to leave out last year's coach former Ranji player Palash Nandy after the team failed in the very first knock-out round.Ghavri was for a brief period coach of the Mumbai team in 1993-94, when the team regained the title after eight years.
