Cape Town: Hansie Cronje will never again play cricket at high level even if he succeeds in having a life ban from the game lifted, his lawyer said on Monday.Lesley Sackstein said Cronje was however keen to coach cricket, which was also ruled out when the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCBSA) in October banned him from the game after hearing that he had taken more than $ 100,000 from bookmakers.Sackstein dismissed reports in the English press at the weekend that Cronje was carefully plotting his return to the pitch and even thinking of playing for the national side again."He will never play cricket again, he gave his undertaking that he will not play representative cricket and he will stick to that," Sackstein told AFP."But there is commentating and coaching and South Africa will get a huge benefit from having him coach."Sackstein said Cronje was confident that the application to reverse the ban, which will be heard in the Pretoria High Court on September 26 and 27, would be successful.Cronje argues in his court papers that the UCBSA failed to give him a chance to tell his side of the story when it imposed the ban and that the restraint of trade it imposes is unconstitutional."We have a pretty good case," Sackstein said. "You cannot unilaterally decide to sanction somebody. They (the UCBSA) took the Law into their own hands."
