New Delhi: Wisden, which has been bringing out statistical data on cricket since 1864, has now launched an analysis of the top 100 batting and bowling performances in 134 years of the game.[an error occurred while processing this directive]The ''Wisden 100'', covering 1,552 matches, 54,494 innings and 29,730 bowling performances, was released at a function in Mumbai.According to a Wisden official press release on Thursday, over a year was spent in reviewing and testing the parameters that would be used to assess these innings and to devise a complex calculation of weighing, using a number of variables including the state of the game, the quality of the bowler, the pitch and the final result of the game.The concept, the release said, would later be extended to cover One-dayers as well. Ratings for individual players are also underway and will be released next year. This addition would be a moving index of current year's performances, both in Test and One-dayers, the press release added. UNI
