Mumbai: The Indian selectors on Thursday picked batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, who is nursing a toe injury, and recalled medium pacer Venkatesh Prasad in the 16-member team for the three-Test series in Sri Lanka starting on August 14 at Galle.[an error occurred while processing this directive]The Indian cricket Board secretary and selection committee convenor, J Y Lele, told reporters on Thursday that the selectors have made eight changes from the One-day squad which is playing in the on-going triangular series in Lanka, with New Zealand as the third team.The players dropped are medium pacer Ashish Nehra and middle order batsman V V S Laxman (due to injury), batsmen Virender Sehwag, Amay Khurasia, Yuvraj Singh, all-rounders Reetinder Singh Sodhi, Ajit Agarkar and medium pacer Debashish Mohanty. The nine players included for the Test series are Sachin Tendulkar (if he proves his fitness after the second bone scan or Jacob Martin will replace him), Shiv Sunder Das, Mohammed Kaif, Javagal Srinath, Sairaj Bahutule, Harvinder Singh, Sadagopan Ramesh, Dinesh Mongia and Venkatesh Prasad.
