Kandy: It was a remarkable win for India as it was without five top players nursing injuries- Sachin Tendulkar, Venkatsai Laxman, Javagal Srinath, Anil Kumble and Ashish Nehra. "It's a good sign for Indian cricket that even without these players, we coped with the pressure," Ganguly said."We decided to be positive and play our normal game. At worst, we could only lose. I was upset at my poor form with the bat because as a captain I was not delivering," the Indian skipper said."But I was working hard and it all came good today. It was one of my better Test innings because it helped the team win, but I was disappointed at not getting a century," he stated."I had asked Kaif to give me the strike, but in the end it doesn't matter. Who knows, we may have won through a no ball or a wide," Ganguly added."We can't complain about the venue just because we lost," Sri Lankan captain Sanath Jayasuriya said."I would blame our performance for the defeat, not the venue. We had a lead of 42 runs on the first innings but we did not capitalise on it. None of the top batsmen settled in and to make it worse, our bowlers bowled on both sides of the wicket, which made it difficult to set fields," he said."We have to be positive in the final Test, it's the responsibility of the batsmen to bat well and the bowlers to bowl well. The Indians were clearly more disciplined than us and deserved to win," Jayasuriya added.
