Bangalore: The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) is launching a scientific junior cricket development programme from October to unearth talent in mofussil areas of the state. [an error occurred while processing this directive]Mr Makarand Waingankar, who has successfully implemented such projects in Mumbai for over two decades, has been appointed consultant for the project by the KSCA, which would be introduced initially in 14 districts.Under the programme, 20 players in the age group of 15 to 17 years would be selected and coaching camps would be held from October 15 2001 to January 15, 2002.Prior to the coaching camp, former English fast bowler and renowned coach Frank Tyson would carry out a two week course for 70 coaches from September 24 to October six this year.KSCA general secretary Brijesh Patel in a release said few more districts would be added next year.The Karnataka Cricket Academy would invite 140 players from seven zones in group of 20 to undergo advance training for a week from November one this year to January 15, 2002. Based on their performance the best players would be selected for a six-week summer vacation camp. UNI
