Chennai: Medium pacer, Zaheer Khan has been cleared of his 'stress fracture' and advised 'one week rest', according to T A Sekar, one of the National Senior Cricket Selection Committee (NSCSC) members of the BCCI.Sekar, who was authorised by the BCCI to get 'bone scan' done on Khan's problems on his right shin, told PTI that the doctors have ruled against any fracture on his leg. Khan would be leaving here for Colombo on Tuesday night to join the team.He said doctors at a private nursing home here had diagnoised it as 'compartment (calf muscle) syndrome' and Khan required a week's rest. 'Khan would be in his usual self before the first Test against Sri Lanka on August 14', he said.Khan had complained of pain on his right shin during the One-day triangular series in Colombo and was to come to Chennai for these tests on August 1 but the team management retained Khan for the One-day series final, which India lost to Sri Lanka on August 5.PTI
