Brisbane: Paceman Ashley Noffke, forced home early from Australia's Ashes cricket tour of England, Thursday received positive news on his injured ankle.[an error occurred while processing this directive]Noffke was told he would be able to run next week after the ligament damage cut his Ashes tour short. "I'll have to see how it comes up after the run but I hope to be back training for Queensland in a couple of weeks," Noffke said."It's a relief because I was worried at one point, thinking it could be something pretty serious." Noffke played just six first-class matches last season but his man-of-the-match performance in the Sheffield Shield cricket final for Queensland last March helped him earn an Australian Cricket Board (ACB) contract. The 24-year-old fast bowler should be ready for the start of the domestic season, when Queensland selectors face one of the most difficult choices in Australian cricket. They have to sift through a squad involving seven quality fast bowlers - Noffke, Michael Kasprowicz, Andrew Bichel, Adam Dale, Joe Dawes, Mitchell Johnson and Scott Muller.Four of those pacemen Kasprowicz, Bichel, Dale and Muller have played Test cricket while Johnson has been marked as a future star and Dawes was the leading domestic wicket taker last season.
