Chennai: New Zealand 'A' will take on Indian Railways while Cricket Association of Bengal meets Jolly Rovers - Tamil Nadu, in the semi-finals of the MRF-Buchi Babu memorial cricket tournament here. [an error occurred while processing this directive]All the teams progressed to the next grade by virtue of their first innings lead in their respective quarter-final matches - New Zealand 'A' with a 156-run lead over MRF, Bengal with 123-run lead over KSCA, Railways with a massive 348-lead over National Cricket Academy and Jolly Rovers with 57 run-lead over Associated Banks. On the concluding day, Railways, who were dismissed for 506 in its first innings, drew with the cricket academy who made 342 for 5 in 76 overs in the second innings. Vivek Mane (80), Deep Das Gupta (57) and Ajay Ratra (78) were the scorers for NCA. The academy had made 158 in the first innings. In the rovers-associated banks match, bank made 281 for 3 in the second knock when the match was called off. Pankaj Dharmani, who hit a fine unbeaten 111, put on161 runs for the unfinished fourth wicket with Sanjay Mohan (42 not out).MRF was all out for 318 in the first innings. New Zealand 'A' Glenn Sulzderger was the main wicket-taker with 5 for 73.In the Cricket Association of Bengal-KSCA match, CAB, overnight 339 for 8, was all out for 355 in 93.5 overs in the first innings. N C Aiyappa bagged 5 for 72. KSCA in its second knock made 245 for 7 in 73 overs when play was called off at the start of the mandatory overs. Sunil Joshi 65, Mithun Beerala 63, and S Ponappa 54 not out were the main scorers. PTI
