Kandy: Two wickets in about 15 minutes helped India claw back in the second Test against Sri Lanka on Wednesday. Sri Lanka went into lunch at 82 for three with Zaheer Khan getting the scalp of Marvan Atapattu for 39.Atapattu had been shaping up superbly till he played on to his stumps much to the delight of the Indian fielders. The Indian bowlers had failed to make an early impression after Ganguly elected to field on winning the toss. The first break through that India got was due to piece of luck and poor cricket on the part of Sri Lankan captain Sanath Jayasuriya. The Lankan skipper dashed for a second run with Atapattu responding in no way. Atapattu, in fact, was looking at the fielder as Jayasuriya was half way down the pitch.Wicket-keeper Sameer Dighe had enough time to relay the ball to the non-strikers end with Jayasuriya well and truly out of his crease. The second wicket for India came a couple of minutes before lunch with Ganguly accounting for Sangakkara. Ramesh at gully brought off a fine catch as Sangakkara (31) steered uppishly.Sri Lanka retained the same side that won the first Test in Galle by 10 wickets, having decided to keep fast bowler Suresh Perera, who was reported last week for a suspect action.India brought in seamer Harvinder Singh for his third Test in place of Javagal Srinath, who returned home after suffering a fracture in his left hand at Galle. The teams: India: Saurav Ganguly (captain), Shiv Sundar Das, Sadagopan Ramesh, Mohammad Kaif, Rahul Dravid, Hemang Badani, Sameer Dighe, Venkatesh Prasad, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh and Harvinder Singh. 12th man: Rahul SanghviSri Lanka: Sanath Jayasuriya (captain), Marvan Atapattu, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardena, Russel Arnold, Hashan Tillekaratne, Chaminda Vaas, Suresh Perera, Dilhara Fernando, Muttiah Muralitharan and Ruchira Perera. 12th man: Thilan Samaraweera.
