New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday told the Delhi High Court that no complaint has yet been filed by it for alleged FERA violation against match-fixing accused Rajesh Kalra, whose name figured in the Delhi police tapes on former South African captain Hansie Cronje's conversation with some bookies.[an error occurred while processing this directive]Additional solicitor general K K Sud told a division bench comprising Justice Usha Mehra and Justice C K Mahajan the matter is being probed by the ED and a complaint in the case would be filed after completion of the investigation.Sud made the statement during the hearing of a petition by Kalra, who had challenged ED investigation on the grounds that after repeal of foreign exchange regulation act (FERA), no case under the act could be made out against him. After Sud's submission, lawyer Vineet Malhotra appearing for Kalra withdrew the petition filed a few months after his arrest by the police and the ED in April 1999. ED had arrested Kalra for his alleged involvement in transferring the match-fixing proceeds out of the country in violation of the FERA provisions.Besides Kalra, ED is probing the cases against Bollywood actor Kishan Kumar and London-based businessman Sanjeev Chawla whose names allegedly figured in Cronje's conversation.Kishan Kumar had also challenged ED probe against him. Both of them were released on mandatory bail by the court as ED had failed to file complaints against them in the court within 60 days of their arrests in 1999. PTI
