Karachi: New Zealand's cricket team has delayed its arrival in Pakistan by 48 hours over fears of attacks on Afghanistan following terrorist strikes in the United States, officials said on Wednesday.[an error occurred while processing this directive]"The New Zealand Board has informed us that they will not come as scheduled on Wednesday and are monitoring the situation for the next 48 hours," Pakistan Cricket Board spokesman Khalid Butt told AFP."They might be fearing attacks on Afghanistan after what happened in the US," Butt said. "The tour is not in doubt because the situation in Pakistan is peaceful," he added.Reports from New Zealand said the team was in Singapore on a stopover and its national board was monitoring the situation in Pakistan's neighbour Afghanistan before deciding whether to go ahead with the tour.New Zealand is scheduled to play three One-day Internationals and three Tests on its tour of Pakistan. The first Test in Peshawar starting October 2 is likely to be shifted to another venue because of the city's proximity to Afghanistan.
