Hyderabad: Fearing escalation of the terror that shook New York, the New Zealand A cricket team is leaving for home on Thursday cutting short its engagement in the ongoing Moin-ud-Dowla gold cup cricket tournament.[an error occurred while processing this directive]We are leaving tonight fearing escalation of the misfortune which struck USA, team manager Ross Dykes told reporters on Thursday. The decision was taken by the New Zealand cricket incorporation in consultation with the foreign department in the best interest of the players, Dykes said. Expressing disappointment over the sudden withdrawal from a very formidable position in the ongoing tournament, Dykes said, We are disappointed. We were feeling safe here but had to honour the decision our country had taken in the interest of our players.The team would be leaving for Singapore on Thursday on its way back home, Dykes added. The New Zealand manager, without answering any further questions on the situation in the USA and impact on his nation, said they had a very good stay here and the tournament was very encouraging.We had all the chances of winning the tournament as we had already entered semi-finals, he said.
