Thiruvananthapuram: A brilliant century by skipper Y Gnaneswara Rao helped Andhra to declare its first innings at 338 for seven on the opening day of its three-day match against Kerala in the South Zone under-19 cricket tournament for Ghulam Ahmed Trophy at LNCPE near here on Saturday.[an error occurred while processing this directive]In reply, Kerala was 44 for the loss of K Manoj (10) at close. Ajai Jacson (21) and R V Gomez (10) were at the crease. Electing to bat, Andhra lost three wickets in the pre-lunch session for the addition of 124 runs. The game picked up tempo after the break with Gnaneswara Rao (102) and Shankara Rao (55) putting on 143 runs off 182 balls for the fifth wicket. The partnership was broken when Shankar Rao got out. Gnaneswara Rao fell next, when he was run out. Left-arm spinner Vivek Gopan was the most successful bowler for Kerala claiming three for 89.PTI
