Chennai: Stylish left-handed batsman Hemang Badani on Monday expressed delight at his inclusion in the Indian team for the One-day triangular series in South Africa starting from September 24 to October 27.
"I am happy about the inclusion. I will strive to do better in South Africa," Badani told reporters, reacting to his selection, replacing V V S Laxman who pulled out as he is still to recover from his knee operation. Badani, who returned here from Hyderabad after playing in the Moin-Ud-Dowla tournament, batted for 30 minutes at the MRF nets facing medium pacers Venkatesh Prasad, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, leg spinner Anil Kumble, besides others. Badani was the first stand-by for the South Africa tour, announced by the Selection Committee.
