He has all the opportunity to show his cricket career is not yet over," Kenya Cricket Association (KCA) secretary Anil Sarkar said.At 34, will be the oldest member of the Kenyan squad that leaves for South Africa on September 27 to play in the international Limited Overs tournament, which will also involve India. The veteran player's last international competition was the 1999 Cricket World Cup in England and he has spent the last two years battling injuries. He required surgery to remove a blood clot on his head after he was hit with the ball while playing for his club, Nairobi Gymkhana, in the local cricket league.Gupta returned to the pitch to open the batting for his club and played for Kenya against the visiting West Indies in a four-day fixture in Mombasa in August."The South African pitches tend to favour fast bowlers than the spinners and this may suit Gupta," Sarkar said, adding, "Given his experience, he may turn around the matches in our favour."Kenya will play three matches each against South Africa and India, with a further chance of featuring in a total of seven games in the One-day tournament, if it reaches the final on October 26.
