Jamshedpur: The special committee, formed by the newly elected Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), to oversee the conduct of matches in domestic tournament in Bihar and Jharkhand for 2001-2002 was on Wednesday welcomed by the Cricket Association of Jharkhand (CAJ).
Talking to newsmen in Jamshedpur, CAJ president Amitabh Chowdhury claimed that majority of the BCCI executive committee members were in favour of CAJ's affiliation, as most of the cricket activities as well as infrastructure required to meet international standard existed in Jharkhand. About the threat by the president of Bihar Cricket Association (BCA), Laloo Prasad Yadav to seek legal options in the event of 'derecognition' of the BCA, he said such move would not affect the prospect of CAJ's affiliation.
