Bangalore: An FIR has been registered against former secretary of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), C Nagaraj, who is also an ex-secretary of the BCCI, and another former KSCA official following a court directive.
"We have registered an FIR against Nagaraj and Ananthashayana (former KSCA manager- finance) under Sections 420, 416 and 417 of the IPC," a police official of the Cubbon Park Police Station in Bangalore told PTI. The 4th additional chief metropolitan magistrate had on Friday ordered the Police station to investigate and submit a report under section 156 (3) of Cr. P C by January nine next year, on a complaint filed before it. KSCA secretary Brijesh Patel filed the complaint. KSCA has alleged that the accused have inflicted an'illegal' loss of Rs 50 lakh and consequently 'illegally' gained more than Rs 1 crore. A special General Meeting of the KSCA in August had severely censured Nagaraj for various irregularities during his tenure as secretary of the Assocation and banned him from holding any office in KSCA. Nagaraj has denied the charges.
