Chennai: In a truncated match, Hyderabad and Tamil Nadu shared six points as the first innings could not be completed on the third and final day in the under-19 Ghulam Ahmed cricket tournament on Monday.
With both the wicket and outfield soggy due to continuous drizzle, play was called off without a ball being bowled after four inspections by umpires A V Jayaprakash (Karnataka) and S Dendapani (Kerala). The first day's play was also washed out. Play was only possible on the second day on Sunday, and Hyderabad, put in, had made 251 for eight at close. As per rules, since the first innings by the teams were not completed, both sides were awarded three points each. With the teams having played four matches in the six-team South Zone league, Tamil Nadu with 22 points will play Karnataka in Bangalore next week, while Hyderabad (15 points) takes on Andhra in Hyderabad, also next week.  Extras:
