Tillekeratne helps CCA score thrilling win over TN

Chennai: The Colombo Cricket Association (CCA), led by Tilan Samaraweera, scored a thrilling victory against Tamil Nadu with two balls and a wicket to spare in the first of the three leg One-day matches in Chennai on Sunday.
 The visitors, who faced a target of 290 in 50 overs at 5.78 runs an over, scored a superb win, thanks to the last wicket pair of Akalanka Ganegama (27 not out) and Dinusha Fernando (10 not out). The duo put on 35 runs in 3.5 overs, at a stage when their team was on 254 for nine. Tamil Nadu captain Robin Singh was the star of his team, remaining unbeaten with a quick fire 85, off just 57 balls. his knock contained seven sixes and four fours. Tamil Nadu openers Sriram (33) and Rajat Bhatia (76) put on 61 runs before the former was run out. Bhatia later added 86 runs for the second wicket with Madana Gopal (77). Just when both Madanagopal and Robin Singh looked like having settled down, the former was adjudged leg before to Samaraweera. Robin and Madanagopal put on 132 runs for the third wicket in 74 minutes. In reply, the Sri Lankans lost three wickets rather cheaply. But Dilson Tillekeratne stood like a rock, making a superb 123, before being run out by Vasanth Saravanan from point. Apart from Dilson, Jehan Mubarek (26) and Gayan Wijekoon (36) were the main scorers.
