Port Elizabeth (South Africa): Former Kenyan cricket captain and current team manager Mehmood Kurashy was admitted to hospital on Tuesday and is expected to undergo heart bypass surgery within days.

Kurashy suffered chest pains at team practice at the St George's Park cricket ground in the South East coast city on Tuesday morning, the South African news agency SAPA reported. The team was preparing for a One-day International match against India when Kurashy complained about some "discomfort in the chest". India's team manager, M K Bhargava, a medical doctor, treated Kurashy at the grounds before he was taken to hospital and given a heart scan.
