Sriram's ton helps TN score 261/5 vs CDA

Chennai: Left-handed opener S Sriram cracked a superb 100 to help Tamil Nadu score 261 for five in 90 overs in its first innings against Colombo District Association (CDA) on the first day of the four-day cricket match for the M J Gopalan Trophy in Chennai on Friday.
 Electing to bat, the hosts lost opener S Suresh (15) who was run out by Akalanka Ganegama fielding at mid-on. Sriram then steadied the innings in the company of C Hemanth Kumar and J R Madanagopal. He put on 109 runs in 43.5 overs with C Hemnanth Kumar (59) for the second wicket and 70 for the third off 23 overs with Madanagopal (43). Sriram finally fell clean bowled by left arm spinner Upal Chandana for an exact 100. Colombo's captain and off spinner Tilan Samaraweera (two for 46) and vice-captain Upal Chandana (two for 56) were the wicket-takers. At close, S Sharath (17) and captain Robin Singh (11) were at the crease.
