Dighe recalled, Williams in Test squad

Mumbai: The Indian selectors on Tuesday recalled wicket-keeper-batsman and Mumbai skipper Sameer Dighe and included left handed opening batsman and Baroda captain Conner Williams in the 16-member squad for the three-match Test series against South Africa from November 3.Zaheer khan and Ashish Nehra - the two left arm seamers who passed the fitness test on Tuesday morning - were also included in the team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary and selection committee convenor, Niranjan Shah, told reporters in Mumbai while declaring the team. Middle order batsman V V S Laxman has already left for South Africa to reinforce the team for the last two One-dayers of the on-going triangular series. The four players who will join the team are Sameer Dighe, Conner Williams, Zaheer Khan and Ashish Nehra while four players who will come back from the present One-day squad are Jacob Martin, Yuvraj Singh, Harvinder Singh and Reetinder Singh Sodhi. The Test squad: Saurav Ganguly (captain), Shiv Sunder Das, Rahul Dravid (vice-captain), Sachin Tendulkar, V V S Laxman, Virender Shewag, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Javagal Srinath, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Ajit Agarkar, Conner Williams, Sameer Dighe (wicket-keeper), Venkatesh Prasad and Deep Dasgupta (wicket- keeper).
