Over the years Rahul Dravids batting order has been constantly shuffled according to the convenience of the Indian management. When a regular opener Connor Williams was sent to South Africa as a replacement for Sadagopan Ramesh why is it he was not taken into the side and instead Dravid was sent opening. [an error occurred while processing this directive]In fact, being a regular opener in the One-dayers it would have been better if Ganguly himself opened the innings. Or may be Sachin also could have gone in as an opener as he also happens to be an experienced One-day opener. Why is it that Dravid is always made a scapegoat whether it is One-dayers or Tests? Dravid has always been a dependable bat in both forms of the game. He may not be flamboyant as Sachin or Ganguly. But he has definitely been a wall for the India batting order, which tends to collapse quite regularly. India needs a batsman who would play a role of anchor and Dravid has been playing that role quite well just like Marvan Attapattu of Sri Lanka. Though Dravid tends to make a slow start he picks up his scoring rate at the end of his innings. Why disturb a player's batting order when he is quite successful at that order and upset his rhythm and confidence. Its time for the Indian management to start thinking positively and give a chance to the youngsters and let the senior players play in their regular order. Anyway a batsman takes some time to adjust to a new batting order. Then why not give the same chance to a newcomer and allow him to settle down in the international scene instead of shuffling the batting order. Let the youngsters face the tough situations and learn from them. They should groom the youngsters for the job instead of shuffling the regular batting order. It really is necessary when one expects a team to perform well.
